Wallpaper - Grain Clad, Weathered Oak

Our Grain Clad, Weathered Oak wallpaper brings the visual character of vertical timber cladding into an interior, featuring muted grey-brown tones, soft knots, and flowing grain movement across wide vertical planks. We particularly like how the subtle tonal shifts between cooler weathered grey and warmer taupe create a quiet, grounding rhythm across a wall. Produced as a made-to-measure design on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical paper structure, this mural wallpaper is straightforward to hang and provides a seamless, architectural backdrop with organic visual depth.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well on an uninterrupted feature wall in a living room, dining area, or bedroom where the vertical plank repeat has space to create visual height. In a bedroom, placing the design behind a low headboard anchors the sleeping area without overwhelming the room with high contrast. The rhythmic vertical lines also suit a hallway or open-plan dining space, adding structured warmth along longer continuous walls. Because the contrast within the grain is gentle, the pattern can easily cover an entire room or a larger dedicated zone without feeling heavy or busy.

Styling it

To complement the weathered oak appearance, we suggest balancing the wallpaper with clean-lined furniture and soft textures rather than competing patterns.

• Ground the room with matte finishes and simple architectural silhouettes in black metal or muted charcoal to highlight the vertical grain.
• Soften the wood look with woven upholstery and relaxed linen or wool textiles in off-white, oat, or heathered grey.
• Incorporate smooth ceramics or stone elements to create an appealing visual contrast against the fine linear grain of the walls.

Colour combinations

The design itself features a balanced palette of weathered grey, muted taupe, warm driftwood brown, and soft charcoal in the deeper grain lines. Around the wallpaper, we would pair adjacent walls and woodwork with warm off-white, soft pebble grey, or muted clay tones. For a more grounded and dramatic interior, deep charcoal, blackened olive, or espresso brown on surrounding trims and larger furniture pieces will echo the darkest accents within the wood grain.
